About The Pina Colada

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a holiday resort that doesn’t have the Pina Colada on the menu, and for good reason.

Legend has it, this delicious drink was first invented by a pirate named Robert Confresi who was born rich in Puerto Rico but turned pirate when the state began failing in the 1800s.

His exact recipe has sadly been lost forever, but the most widely recognized creator of the Pina Colada Is Ramon Marrero, a bartender at the Caribe Hilton’s Beachcomber Bar in San Juan, Puerto Rico when he was asked to create a signature drink.

Marrero took 3-month to come up with the recipe and launched it on August 16, 1954, and it’s been a hit ever since.

Bartenders all around the world should know how to create a Pina Colada, so give this recipe a try and I promise it will not disappoint.
